Purpose

We strive to ensure everyone, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, religion, or background, feels welcomed, respected, and valued.

Definitions

  • Equality means ensuring everyone is treated fairly and has equal access to opportunities.
  • Equity recognizes different people may need different support to access the same opportunities.
  • Diversity acknowledges and values the differences between people.
  • Inclusion means creating an environment where everyone feels respected, accepted, and supported.

Our Commitments

Inclusive Access

  • Ensure activities are accessible to all abilities and backgrounds.
  • Make reasonable adjustments for disabilities or individual needs.
  • Provide flexible participation options for different needs.

Fair Treatment

  • Respect all members.
  • Address discrimination, bullying or harassment.
  • Zero-tolerance to any form of prejudice or exclusion.

Representation

  • Encourage diverse representation in club roles.
  • Maintain safe channels for members to share concerns or suggestions.
  • Consult with underrepresented groups to understand their experiences and needs.

Education and Awareness

  • Provide training on inclusive practices to staff, volunteers and members.
  • Promote awareness of unconscious bias and cultural sensitivity.
  • Apply EEDI to club communications, policies and events.
