Homepage file plugin
The 4 main file options are:
- File – a selected filename
- Daily note – the current daily note (a core plugin)
- Date dependant file – requires moment understanding
- Random file – like the core plugin
Additional options that can be helpful are:
- Opening the homepage on startup
- Use a ribbon icon
- A separate mobile homepage
When you select a file it will always look for the filename.
This means you can move the file into a folder and it doesn’t matter.
Some settings can alter the open options:
- Replace all open notes
- Replace last note
- Keep open notes
A few final custom options include:
- File auto-creation
- Pane default view
- Revert the view from the default
- Auto-scroll to the bottom
My preference would be to use a Canvas file as a homepage.
Alternative plugins
I don’t use this plugin as it doesn’t save the workspace.
This means if I have tabs, panes, windows, or files up that I want to save I need something else.
That is why I combine:
- Workspace core plugin
- Workspaces plus community plugin
- Commander community plugin
Workspaces saves the workspace as well as the file.
Workspaces plus lets a workspace be added to the command list.
Commander lets commands be added to parts of the workspace like the ribbon.
